The New Minimalism
In a busy world, it always seems that people feel a need to focus on the essence. This is where minimalist design comes in: emerged from the longing for simplicity, the new minimalism takes it’s influences from the late 7’s and Bauhause era.

Minimalism has been huge in the past decades, but while we’ve been seeing scandinavian influences everywhere, resulting in Hygge and Lagom, lifestyle trends, 2022 comes with a new minimalism. Focusing on the essence, we’re leaving bright wood and all-white simplicity, diving deep into a new trend inspired by 70’s architecture. The darker tones and industrial materials of the Mies Van der Rohe and Bauhaus era are to be seen everywhere.
Shaping this new minimalism, this style takes it’s aesthetics from darker tones. Darker and red wood, black leather, metal and iron are materials that add the typical industrial flair to lifestyle and interior design.
